USC Village Opens to the Trojan Community

The long-awaited USC Village, the university’s massive development at the corner of Hoover Street and Jefferson Boulevard, officially opened to the Trojan community August 17, 2017.
Not only is it the largest development in the university’s history, it’s also the largest South Los Angeles has ever seen, university President C. L. Max Nikias said.

USC Takes its Place in Los Angeles Skyline

USC’s logo and name now sit atop a 32-story landmark office tower at Olive and 12th streets, facing the east and west sides of the city of Los Angeles.
On Dec. 19 and 20, a Huey helicopter raised six letters, two shields and supporting framework to the top of the tower. The letters weigh about 500 pounds each and stand 15 feet tall. The shield weighs 2,000 pounds and is 20 feet high.
